Looks Matter

When finding a job (or at any time for that matter) you ALWAYS must look like you deserve an opportunity. Get in shape, get a manicure, hair cut, whatever... You gotta' do it. If your wardrobe needs updating, do it. If you need a new briefcase, get one. Spend the time, energy and money early in your search to look like you deserve the job.

Don't think that you can walk in with a 10 year old tie our blouse and be OK. You can't. Most likely one of the first people you will meet is a HR person that is younger and more attuned to modern styles than you are. So, get your wardrobe updated. Also, everyone is trained to take note of you from the moment you get to the interview location. EVERYONE!

So, go out. Get yourself cleaned up. Update your wardrobe AND accessories (i.e.: briefcases and purses) and look like you belong there.
